“this chair makes it look like Allison Janney is sitting in a teacup.”
top 10 mulder/scully episodes;
i don’t trust them. i want to trust you.
Oh god, I am pretty sure that this episode was Patient Zero for all of my fannishness to come.
I rented this episode on VHS (!!!) from BLOCKBUSTER like 20 times. I still remember watching the last 15 minutes over and over again, with nascent confusing feelings.
So much distrust, yet so much UST. Kind of my teen experiences in a nutshell. Ah, adolescence.
So we are looking at a gifset of my life being ruined.
favorite doctor who episodes → the runaway bride
Favorite episode of all time. Of anything, probably ever.
Fandom pet peeve: when people who converted to Donna-appreciation in s4 still think that Donna in The Runaway Bride was terrible, annoying, and/or irredeemably shallow.
Is it because they are taking Lance’s speech seriously? Like all hurtful things, that speech has a grain of truth but it was also meant to be a criticism of earthly concerns, in general. Lance also proved to be a total prat, so I think you’re aligning yourself too closely with him if you dismiss Donna for reading tabloids.
Do they really think that Donna changed that much between RAB and s4? I don’t think she did. Everything awesome in Donna was there from the beginning: the feisty gob, the challenging of Ten’s perspective, the compassion (look at the reception scene and her stepping protectively in front of Ten above for proof).
Maybe her worldview expanded with the glimpse of the universe (an effect the Doctor has on all of his companions), but that’s about it. She certainly grew in s4, but not changed, no.
I guess I could understand if Donna intruded on some people’s Rose grief, but surely a second look after s4 is called for.
YMMV, but people who dislike RAB Donna are missing the point.
Post-kissing? Or Post-coital? You be the judge.
One of my favorite moments in the digital download. Also a reflection of how I feel after watching this show at long last. How I adore their goofy-face-making perfection.
I want a hug from Bradley Whitford. I just do.
ADHD + codependence+ yoga= awesome hugs.
Frank ‘n Tim. When I find a good pic of that roof scene, I will post it post-haste (See what I did there?) Because seriously, that scene is magic.
